Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), in collaboration with Anti Racism Movement (ARM), KAFA, Enga Lenga, INSAAF, the American University of Beirut, and Mesawat, organized a webinar event to raise awareness of the deteriorating situation for migrant workers in Lebanon today and the implications for their health and dignity, both within and outside the Kafala system.

The event, titled “Out of Mind and Out of Sight: The Deteriorating Situation of Migrant Workers in Lebanon Amidst a Profound Socio-Political Crisis,” featured a panel discussion on the health and mental health conditions that MSF witnesses in its consultations with migrant workers, many of which are linked to the harsh living and working conditions created by the Kafala system.

MSF and the participating organizations initiated this event to contribute to the efforts of the Lebanese civil society and migrant-led organizations to highlight the migrant workers status under the Kafala system. The event was an opportunity to share information and raise awareness about the challenges faced by migrant workers in Lebanon, and to discuss potential solutions.

We hope that this event will help to shed light on the plight of migrant workers in Lebanon and to inspire action to improve their situation.
